Year Four - Day Thirty-Five

Summer's View

We drove from Ft. St. John’s, BC to Muncho Lake, where we are camping at the Northern Rockies Lodge and Campground.  It is three hours to the nearest cell phone tower, and the internet is barely there, but we have a beautiful sight on the lakeside.  No television here, either.

On the drive up through some beautiful mountain scenery, we spotted 6 black bears, one was a mom with a cub, our first caribou sighting, two goshawks, a chipmunk, a moose cow with a big calf, and Jim saw a groundhog.  We can’t believe how many bears we have seen in Canada! Wow!

The lodge here has a seaplane where they fly folks into Nahanni Park for sightseeing canoe trips, so it was cool to see the plane come in and land tonight. Sam was playing around on the dock and fell in the lake – LOL! He laughed about it, so it was all good. He and Jim did some fishing, and Jim met some of the guys who work here at the lodge, who gave him a trout to cook up for breakfast. J
