Year Three - Day 103

Sam's View

Today we went to Florence, OR. On the way there we stopped at devil's churn. It is a small canyon thing with water being pushed into causing big waves! Next to it is a spot where the water splashes the water making a geyser looking thing. It is pretty cool. :)  On the way back we stopped at the Seal Lion Caves. It is the world's largest sea cave! You go down 208 ft in an elevator. When we got all the way down, we went to the lighthouse viewpoint. When we went back down from the viewpoint we checked out the cave and there was a sea lion in there!!!!! It was amazingly awesome!

Summer's View

The drive along the OR coast was awesome, full of cliffs, trees, rock formations, and waves.  As the guys said, we stopped at some cool spots - the sound of the water thumping into the caves under the rocks was something I will never forget - it was more like a low rumble.  The Stellar's Sea Lion that posed on the rock formation in the cave was too funny!  What a ham!

Jim's View

Today we drove along the coast. We stopped here and there taking little hikes exploring various features along the coastline. There were lots of places to explore, like Devil's Churn. We had a great time on the rocks. We drove down to Florence, OR where we had a great seafood lunch. We explored this little coastal inlet town. Saw harbor seals, people crabbing, and lots of boats. It was pretty nice little town.

On the way home we stopped at Seal Lion Caves as Sam described above. We saw a few seals and one actually entered into the cave for a picture session. It was amazingly awesome!
